| I'm a 29 year old CPA (that’s "Certified
Public Accountant" --- not "Constant Pain in the Ass"
according to Commissioner Wool) from Cleveland, Ohio. I currently work for
the Insurance & Pension Funds of the Painters Union of Cleveland
District Council No. 6 as the Assistant Administrative Manager. I grew up
in Cincinnati and moved to Cleveland after graduating with a Bachelors in
Accounting from Bowling Green State
University in Bowling Green, Ohio in 1994. I went to work for Star
Banc as an Analyst in their Commercial Lending Department. In 1997, I took
the position that I currently have with the Painting Industry Funds.
I have been a lifelong baseball fan with a love for the Cincinnati
Reds and the Cleveland Indians.
Growing up in Cincinnati, I had the opportunity to play high school
baseball against a number of current Major League Baseball players,
including Ken Griffey Jr., David Bell, Scott Sauerbeck, Adam Hyzdu (who
debuted with Pittsburgh in the 2000 season), and Chris Sexton (who played
last season with my beloved Cincinnati Reds). In addition, I had the
opportunity to catch Tommy Kramer while he played for the Cleveland
Indians as he prepared at our Alma Mater Roger Bacon High School prior to
Spring Training in 1988 and 1989.
I’ve been playing APBA baseball since 1995 – when it was introduced
to me by a friend. I am currently in three leagues: The YCL, The Arriba
Baseball Confederation, and the Millenium Baseball League. I introduced
Carl Barone to the YCL while we were both working for Star Banc. Each of
us has moved on to other business ventures; but we remain friends
(although "long-distance" friends now that he has moved to
Folsom, CA).
I had the opportunity(!?!) to meet the Pig in person when Bill
Hornbuckle visited Cleveland and Carl and I met him for dinner. Despite
what most people might think, he does wear shoes in public!!!!!! Bill is
actually a great guy. I hope to meet more of the YCL members in the years
to come.
As most of you who have been in the YCL for a number of years know, I
love to make trades. Every year I compete with Carl Barone and Terry
Schneekloth for the Hemorrhoid Award for making the most trades during
each off-season. Most years, Carl is hard to beat.
