Peer Review of Firm:

We are very proud to announce we have successfully completed a rigorous peer review of the quality controls over our accounting and auditing practice. The reviewers concluded the firm complies with the stringent quality control standards set by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the national professional organization of CPAs. This is the fourth consecutive peer review the firm has completed for which the reviewers ranked our firm in the highest category.

What is Peer Review?

In 1988, the members of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) overwhelmingly approved a proposal that requires AICPA members in public practice to participate in a practice-monitoring program. With the adoption of this proposal, the AICPA implemented a triennial review program of unprecedented scope in the CPA profession or any other -- the Quality Review Program. Quality review (now called peer review) helps assure users of CPA services that their CPA firm measures up the profession's high standards of professionalism and is committed to improving the quality of its practice.

The review determines whether a firm has suitable quality control policies and procedures and is complying with them. Specifically, the review focuses on the following:

bulletHow the firm implements independence requirements
bulletHow personnel are assigned
bulletProvisions for consultation when technical assistance is required
bulletHow accounting and auditing engagements are performed and supervised
bulletHiring practices
bulletContinuing professional education programs
bulletPromotion of personnel
bulletObtaining and retaining clients
bulletInternal inspection of the firm's work
